ABOUT ME

When I was two years old, I was screaming along to sirens going by my house, and my dad was so excited! He thought I had perfect pitch! I… don’t. Still, I was constantly surrounded by music, my mom singing along out of tune to the B-52’s, my dad playing the guitar he’s had since he was thirteen years old, my brother and I banging on our piano before we knew how to play. Soon, my brother Riley was playing in bands with his friends and I was filling in for whoever decided to bail out twenty minutes before the middle school battle of the bands, the most important event of our lives, at that point.

Then, I heard Moon Hooch! I wanted to play saxophone more than anything when I heard what those guys were doing. And one weekend, my mom went out of town and when she came back, I had an alto saxophone. And I hated improvising. Riley would sit at the piano and attempt to write songs with me and I stubbornly would say that I couldn’t do it, until he broke me down and I played something out of annoyance at him. Which would end up turning into a cool song. I was also playing saxophone at school, and I was put on baritone sax in the jazz band. Every single teacher I had throughout middle-high school put me on baritone sax, so I accepted it as my fate, and then fell in love with it.

Other than music, I dabble in visual arts through painting, doodling, and collaging. I love climbing trees and I'm currently teaching myself how to create claymation videos.
Occasionally you can see me in lip sync performances with my homemade puppet and partner in crime, Kiwi.
